Parents were being reassured none of the injuries were thought to be serious and were encouraged to pick up their kids from areas near the crash site.

One parent who picked up her son from the scene said the school bus was packed with children at the time of the crash.

The child said the bus was involved in a “head-on collision” with a car but that none of the pupils on-board sustained serious injuries.
